AEWV – Announcement 25/5/23
Employers with pending AEWV applications: Submit missing information within 10 days to avoid delays or application decline. Applications typically decided within 5 working days.
Kia ora,
Since the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) opened in July 2022, we have seen a strong interest in the category with a large number of applications received.
However, there are a number of applications we have been unable to progress as we are still waiting on the applicant to provide all of the relevant information required before we can finalise the application. In many cases, we have requested this information a number of times.
As a result, we are going to be reaching out to those applicants to request they provide the information needed within 10 working days before we progress their application. This will have different impacts on the applicant, depending on whether they are onshore or offshore.
For applicants who are currently onshore, if we do not receive the required information in the timeframe required, we will write to them with an initial assessment of their application and provide them with an opportunity to respond to any potentially prejudicial information before we make a final decision.
For applicants who are currently offshore, if we do not receive the required information in the timeframe required or there is no other response to our request for information, we will progress the application as is for final assessment, and it is likely the application will be declined due to not meeting immigration health instructions to be granted a visa.
If an applicant does not provide the further information in the 10 working days requested or does not respond to advise us of their circumstances, we will progress their application as is, which may result in a decline.
Where this is the case, the job token (unique link) that was consumed for that applicant will be released to your dashboard after the 14-day reconsideration period and will be able to be re-used if the job check is still valid. We are planning to carry out this work over the next few weeks, with the hopes of finalising these applications as soon as possible.
