Planning a visit to or study in New Zealand? Here's what you need to know about health requirements for temporary entry visas.

Generally, visitors must meet an acceptable standard of health (ASH) to enter New Zealand. This means you shouldn't pose a public health risk, create a significant burden on the healthcare system, or require ongoing government-funded healthcare (if under 21 and applying for a student visa). You should also be able to participate in the activities your visa allows (work or study).

If you don't meet the ASH requirements, you may still be able to visit New Zealand with a medical waiver.
